I woke up today and realized it has been close to 2 months since I wrote my last article on Medium. It was not an intentional decision, but it just happened. I lost momentum, and I did not even realize it since one rarely sees the results of losing momentum immediately. So, I asked myself, why did this happen? How did this happen? The answer I got was simple. The other tasks I needed to do were more urgent (or at least seemed so), and I lost track of my writing habit. I was distracted, so I lost my momentum.

Loss of momentum in daily life is guaranteed if there is no effort to preserve and increase momentum. Momentum powers your routine, and your routine powers your life! I know you are probably wondering, how do I keep or increase momentum? You can keep momentum by consistently showing up and performing your routine. There would be days where you don’t have the motivation or have too much to do. On such days, you can scale down your routine in multiple ways. One of such is by spending less time on each activity that makes up your routine. However, you should do every single activity that makes up your routine. This action is essential since it reinforces that “the show must go on” even if you are not motivated.

However, losing momentum can also occur when you are involved in too many activities. You can quickly become overwhelmed and lose track of the essential activities. The only solution to this is to reduce the excess and stick with the important. So, reduce the activities and enjoy the rest.

Finally, momentum is vital in our lives to keep us on track to our goals. Losing momentum now could determine our state in years to come. With that, I am back!!
