Looking Back at 2019

When I look back at 2019, one thing stands out for me — my desire to be in a relationship. As it stands, I am not in a relationship yet, which is not to say I did not try. Sometimes my efforts bordered on desperation. I have been rejected, ghosted, insulted, gently let down, and many more. It is tempting to give up at some point, but I am continually pushing forward.

I learned some lessons while pushing forward, and I will share them below.

  • Find people that understand

Many things helped me in persevering. But importantly, I found people that understood what I was going through. These people support and encourage me every step of the way. They inspire me never to give up.

  • A relationship does not define you

As consuming as this search might be, I cannot afford to lose my identity. My identity is not found in any relationship or lady, but it is found in God.

  • Your actions are yours!

I control my actions regardless of what others have done. I have been ghosted and disrespected a lot of times, but that does not mean I should lash out or hurt them as they hurt me.

  • Know what you want

Be sincere, and know what you want. Don’t be double-minded or try multiple girls at the same time. I found out that I lose sight of what is important to me that way.

Finally, don’t give up! A good relationship is worth the wait.
